Oh whale, hello there. Welcome to Sunset Cove! You have arrived.
Are you ready to embark on an adventure? Are you ready to share the raging seas with an ever-so intriguing friend?
But the real question is...
Have your ever looked at a sunset and get sucker-punched so hard by its rays and inspirational colors that you reimagine your life and begin to question every decision you made that day? Or maybe a photo or video made you rethink how you treated someone/something, that day?

Looking through dozens of photos of orcas, I stumbled upon these sunset photos and couldn't take my eye away. I was finding myself wishing I was there taking in the scene, smelling the salt-water, hearing the waves, breathing in the oranges and reds of the sun. Then these photos became the real determining factor for the name of the blog. (I mean, jaw dropping beauty!)
Through a little bit of studying in photography, EVERYTHING looks/feels better in the “golden hour." Even the scariest/ugliest objects in hour right before the day meets nights, where the sun meets the moon have an unheard of attraction.
IMAGINE.. A serene area where if just at the right moment, you listen, you can hear every ripple, swish, and maybe even a whistle from a familiar friend... A place to harbor your thoughts, appreciate Mother Nature and whatever God(s) you believe in. Where is this, you ask? A cove on any lake, sea or river- these tend to have some of the calmest areas of the water.
What does this have to do with whales?
Although, there is hype around Orcas recently due to the Blackfish scandal around SeaWorld that shook the entire world; this is blog is for whale lovers, new whale voyagers, and whale defenders to come together. My goal is to educate through O-WARENESS and to magnify these majestic beasts by sharing my O-PPRECIATION.
With raging waves of opinions and hatred for whatever side you’re on, this will be a welcoming place to shed some peaceful light, even on the more difficult conversations. This blog is to offer a tranquil area to share stories and recent sightings surrounding killer whales.
